What is a CV?:
A CV, which stands for curriculum vitae is a document used for when applying for a job. It allows everyone to summarise their education, skills and experience enabling you to successfully sell your abilities to potential jobs in the future.
How long a CV should be?:
A CV in the UK should be no longer than two sides of A4 paper. If you are for example a school leaver with no experience may only fill one side of the A4 paper and if anyone has any experiences then you may use two sides of the A4 paper. A three page CV might be necessarily for high level students who have gained a lot of experience or worked in multiple jobs for the past five to ten years. To save space, only write the main points of your education such as your GCSE exam results and always stick information and most importantly, don't repeat yourself of what you said in your cover.
What to include in a CV:
The things that you must include in your CV are contact details, profile, education, work experience and skills and achievements. For contact details you need to include your full name, home address, mobile number and email address. Date of birth is also important unless you are applying for a different kind of job such as acting and modelling. A CV profile is essential because it is a concise statement that highlights your key skills and helps you to stand out from the rest. A good CV profile focuses on the sector of what you're applying for, as your cover letter will be a job specific. Also you must include your education and GCSE results so that the job that you're applying for knows your strongest and weakest points in order for them to put you on a job role that is best for you. List your work experiences as well and make sure that anything that you mention is important and relevant to the job that you are applying for, include job title, name of the company and how long you were with the company and key responsibilities. Lastly, the one thing that you need to include in your CV are skills and achievements, the skills that you include in your CV has to be relevant to the job that you're going to apply for, let's just say that you are going to apply for a job like engineering the skills that need to have to get the job are creativity, leadership, communication etc.
Why CV is important?:
CV's are very important when you are applying for a job, especially when your CV is well presented and organise to show to the job that you are applying for that you are professional and serious to work for them. The more professional and effort you put into the CV, the more likely you are get an interview and if you have the charisma and confidence, also a well understanding of the job you'll have a higher chance to nail the interview.
CV Examples:
In this fort example, the person introduces himself in the summary as 'highly motivated student currently pursuing an MA in Publishing' this shows that he is motivated to study and trying to get a better job in the future. Tim follows up with his studies and that it has given him a strong foundation in literature and has two year retail experience in which he states 'enabling me to develop strong customer service and teamwork skills. It was a good thing that the person included the skills that he is developing so that the job that he is applying for, knows the person's skills and role him into the job. In the education bit of this person's CV shows that he has a good education, especially English which will be good for communication skills when talking to his colleges during work and could potentially have good leadership skills, which would be excellent during the work environment to give instructions to others. His overall CV is good, he pretty much included his skills, which is essential for a CV and his education, I don't think his CV needs to be improved as he pretty much included the most important information that a CV should have.

In this second example, Julia introduces herself in her own personal statement as a 'skilled in the provision of high-level administrative support'. One of Julia's core skills are report production and client relationships, these skills will most likely attract other filming companies because of her skills in report production, which is a production's progress and expenses and to help determine what salary is owed to the cast and crew. Julia's other skill of client relationship is another good skill that other businesses want because having good interactions with customers will make the business a lot successful. In her achievements, she implemented a new appointment system and saving the department over £13,000 and also she managed to negotiate with suppliers concerning with the costs of office equipment and managed to secure a cost reduction of 30%. Her achievements are really incredible and something that other businesses would want to improve their business because of her. Overall her CV is well organised and she included the important points like personal introduction and her achievements which will be very useful for other businesses. I don't think she needs any improvements in her CV as she pretty much included everything on a CV.

Evaluation:
I did research about what is a CV, how long a CV should be, what you should include in a CV and why a CV is important etc. I would say that I did pretty well when doing the necessary research about CV's, especially the examples that I have found, I wrote of what I think about the CV if it does meet the requirements, does it mention past qualifications, personal statement etc. As for my own CV, I have included all of the things that should be in a CV such as past qualifications, email, address, skills and personal statement. The things that I could better is to update my personal statement as I feel it needs to have a bit more detail and information about me and my skills, as for my relevant skills I could have add a little more in detail about my important skills like IT as I think can explain a bit more about my Photoshop skills and my problem solving skills as I haven't given any examples of how I correct my mistakes or what I could something differently to improve.
