Business Cards
What is a Business Cards:
A business cards are cards that have business information about a company or individual. They are credit-card sized paper and they hold your details such as name, contact details and brand logo.
Why business cards is important?:
Even though some people think business cards are useless but, they are important and essential because in most businesses, business card will be the first impression for potential customers of the brand and you. Business cards can also show your professionalism and seriousness of you because let's just say that if someone asks for a business card and you don't have one, you will be considered amateurish and not ready to do business with someone else. Another thing why business cards are important is it can be way more personal than email or online marketing because when you greet someone with a handshake and you hand them a business card it will have greater impact than any online correspondence and that's excellent for building lasting business relationships.
What to include in a business card?:
A business card must include logo, company name, your name, website and contact details. The logo needs to be visual to represent your company and what you stand for, it also makes your business feel more credible, professional and trustworthy. Company name is one of the most important things in your business card, company names are usually placed below the logo so when you design a business card make sure you have enough space to place your company name and also make sure to make it bigger because that's what everyone is going to see when they look at your business card. Always make sure that your name is on the business card in order for other people remember your name and also create a personal connection to your very own business. When you design both your business card and a website, make sure that their is consistency between the two, this is something that I have to bear in mind when I'm making own business card and website. Contact details can either be on the centre, right or left. Contact details such as your email and phone number can be placed on the left, right or centred it doesn't matter which one you prefer as long as it is visible for anyone to see by not making them really small in your business card.
Examples
This business card is well designed. The business card has their logo in the middle to catch the eye of potential customers and audience also it is a good way to represent the company, email and phone number are placed below of the card. At the back, the company logo is on the left side of the card and 'your name' is on the right side, along with email and location of where the company is located. I like the example that I have found because this example meets the requirements of a business card like the logo in the middle and the name also email, phone number and city location. I'm thinking of doing the same thing as this example as I think it will be impactful to potential customers and employees that are probably thinking of working for them, I don't have much complaints about this example.

The second example is a bit different than the first example, the card isn't in a landscape shape and the logo in the top half of the card and details in the bottom half. This card includes all the details that is required for a business card such as your name, email and address and at the back of the card, the company logo is by itself and no further details added at the front. Personally, I don't like the business card because it isn't in a landscape shape as I prefer the card to be in a landscape shape like the previous example, the only thing that this example has achieved is the details like name, email and address. I will just stick with the first one as my main inspiration of my business card as I like how it is presented which in my opinion, the better one out of the two.
Drafts:
I made two drafts of my business card, the first one I used a white, blue, and orange background. The business logo is on the left hand side of the card and the details are placed on the right, I used fancy writing for the details to match the writing from my logo. I would say that I like the first draft as the logo blends in with the white background and also the additional orange, blue, and green waves which makes the business card even more interesting and eye-catching to potential audience or customers. As for the second draft, I changed the background from white to red with 3-D shape on it and I also changed the text to see what would look like with red background and the logo, I would say that I don't really like the second draft as much as the fist one because my logo doesn't fit in with the red background and the text doesn't really match the same text that I used when I made my business logo. The reason why neither of them made it to the final product is because I found the final product below to be the one to use for my business identity. These drafts shows my improvements throughout the years that I have been as a media student and I'm happy with these improvements when I look back.
Business Card
This is my final design of my business card. I would say that my business card is sort of similar to the first example, I put my logo on the side and my details on the right side such as name, email, phone and address. I didn't want to make my business card the same as the second example because I have explained that I didn't like how the business card wasn't in landscape because most business cards are landscapes shapes and small in size as well. The thing that I would improve on my business card is probably add social media logos, phone logo and gmail logo to make it even colourful and really professional like real life business cards and I would probably change the background to more of a black background and some red lines. I would also change the way how the texts are in place, I would probably my name text a bit smaller and moving it a bit down to the social media details.
Feedback
The feedback that I have received about my business card is positive as well. One of the responses was about the background and the logo and one of them said that 'The background design and the fact you kept the text white to co inside with the white design on the background' I would have to say that I disagree with this particular feedback because I don't think that the background is not something that I would be proud of to be honest, I could have go for a different background to make it better but this the 'best' that that I could find. As for the changes, one of my audience responded by saying 'I'd remove the white background from your logo so it fits better' I partially agree with this feedback because I'm still thinking of keeping the white background and making it into a round shape because it suits better on a business card in my opinion.
